Deuteronomy 4:30, “…return to the LORD your God and obey His voice.”
Lord, how many times have I returned to You but not obeyed your voice? Some hurt or stress will send me running to your arms but as soon as I’m comforted, I’m off again. Forgive me. I am a fickle child. I also see this from a parent’s perspective because my kids do the same thing. C will climb on something tall, fall off, get hurt, and then run to me for comfort. I love on him and remind him that this is why we don’t climb on tall things. He often goes to time-out too, only to climb on something dangerous 10 minutes later. I am just like that. I’m sorry. Thank you for your forgiveness.
Lord, when I’m safe in your arms, close enough for You to whisper in my ear, let me hear and obey. I know you will not always hold us as babies but You also teach us to walk, even more reason for me to listen and obey. Father, speak to me and train my heart in obedience. There are many uncertainties in my life today. I want to obey You and You alone. Thank you Lord. Amen
